Every verdict on DetailedVerdict follows the same process, and we publish that process so you can judge our conclusions rather than take them on trust.
What we do
- We start with the manufacturer’s own claims. Specifications, pricing and guarantee terms are taken from the official product listing on the date shown at the top of each review, and we say so.
- We separate claim from confirmation. Where a figure is stated by the seller but not independently verified, we label it as a manufacturer claim rather than presenting it as a measured result.
- We read the category, not just the product. A product is assessed against the realistic alternatives a buyer would also be considering at that price.
- We name the limitations. Every review carries a section covering what the product cannot do. If a limitation would change who should buy it, it goes near the top, not buried at the bottom.
- We date everything. Prices, discounts and guarantee windows change. Each review shows when it was last checked.
What we do not do
- We do not publish invented first-person testing narratives, staged photographs, or customer testimonials we cannot attribute.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive verdict or for the removal of criticism.
- We do not present affiliate links as editorial recommendations without disclosure. Every commercial link is marked.
How we make money
DetailedVerdict earns commission when a reader buys through a link on this site. This does not change the price you pay, and it does not change what we write. Full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
